Thunar Volume Manager

The Thunar Volume Manager is an excellent addition to Thunar file manager, providing automatic management of removable drives and media. When you have the Thunar Volume Manager installed and configured properly, you can enjoy convenient management of your media. For example, when you plug in your digital camera, your preferred photo application will be launched automatically, and the new pictures will be imported to your photo collection, all without any extra steps.

Compared to other solutions such as gnome-volume-manager or ivman, the Thunar Volume Manager proves to be a more lightweight solution because it doesn't require an extra daemon to run in the user's desktop session. Additionally, it perfectly integrates into the Thunar file manager and the Xfce desktop.

To use Thunar Volume Manager, you will need to have GTK+ version 2.6.x, Thunar File Manager 0.5.1 or above, D-BUS 0.34 or above (with the dbus-glib development package), and HAL 0.5.0 or above (with the libhal development package).
