Automator workflow allows for easy execution of tivodecode, a software program used to decrypt and convert recorded TiVo files. It streamlines the process of extracting video recordings from TiVo devices by automating the decryption and encoding tasks.
TiVoDecoder is a convenient and cost-free Automator workflow application that streamlines tivodecode operations on your Mac. To initiate, you must transfer tivodecode to a location referenced in your path. You can accomplish this quickly by navigating to Terminal, visiting the directory tivodecode is located in, and typing "sudo mv tivodecode /usr/sbin". Your password will be requested before the file is moved.
After tivodecode has been relocated, launch the workflow in Automator. In step two of the workflow, described as "Run Shell Script," insert your Media Access Key in the blank space where it says "". Additionally, you have the option to modify the output filename and directory. (This feature is currently set to the root directory by default.)
