Turing is an easy-to-use and easy-to-extend implementation of CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing-Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart). But what is CAPTCHA? It is a type of challenge-response test used in computing to determine if the response is not generated by a computer.

During the process, a server asks a user to complete a simple test generated and graded by the computer. Since other computers cannot solve the CAPTCHA, any user entering a correct solution is deemed human. Unlike standard Turing tests administered by a human and targeted to a machine, a CAPTCHA is administered by a machine aimed at a human.

Currently, reCAPTCHA is the official CAPTCHA implementation recommended by the original creators. Turing is an excellent CAPTCHA option for those looking to customize or extend the process to better suit their needs.
