UModPlayer is a remarkable open-source audio module player designed for UNIX operating systems. It comes with a range of features that make it a great software option for playing audio files on your computer. You'll love the ease of use, flexibility, and customization it provides.

One of the key highlights of UModPlayer is its ability to support different audio format types, allowing you to play them and skip to any section in a song. The software also has standard features like pause, timer, display, and more. Interestingly, you can view pattern notes while playing, and there's playlist support, allowing you to create, delete, move individual items or import from the current directory contents, save, and load a saved playlist.

UModPlayer also allows you to specify any of the ModPlug options like noise reduction, megabass, surround, and reverb sound options that include the grade and delay of most options. If you wish to export audio data of a module to any of the supported formats or read and export the song's built-in message, instrument names, and sample names, UModPlayer makes it easy for you to achieve that.

One exciting aspect of UModPlayer is that each user of your UNIX box can save sound options. Plus, there are other features worth mentioning that make UModPlayer an excellent software option. However, for proper functioning, you need some requirements like LibAo, LibModPlug >= 0.8 that supports dozens of formats, and LibAiff >= 1.1 that provides AIFF file support.

The latest UModPlayer software has added some new updates like a manual page written for umodplayer, code cleanup to enhance clarity and maintainability, the ability to delete and move the position of an arbitrary item in the playlist, implementing a new, much cleaner command interpreter with new features, and customized table widget themes like classic, strong, and boxed, among others. You can access MOD files in the file info system, plus the first letter of the command name is now suitable for playlist commands. Also, the software has a feature that requires you to press "q" to quit instead of the enter button.

In summary, UModPlayer is a fantastic software option for anyone looking to play audio files on their UNIX operating system. It's easy to use, customizable, and comes with a range of features that cater to your needs.
