Vectoroids

Vectoroids is a vector-based asteroid shooting game that operates within the SDL framework. This game challenges you to navigate your spacecraft through an asteroid field, gradually reducing their size and ultimately destroying them. Vectoroids is a direct modification of the Agendaroids code, which was ported from X-Window to SDL, allowing it to run on a vast array of platforms.

Vectoroids features an array of cool color vector graphics, high-quality sound effects, and great music. The game offers a smooth and engaging gameplay experience, with rotating asteroids that ensure you remain on the edge of your seat. The game is also optimized for performance with fast, table-based trigonometric functions.

The game requirements include the libSDL library, SDL_image, and SDL_mixer (optional, for sound and music). Additionally, the latest release of Vectoroids comes with some improved features, including a lowering of the volume of the game-over sound (which in the past had been ear-piercingly loud on the Zaurus), and a reduction in the length of shots in the embedded version (owing to the smaller screen size). Moreover, the max number of asteroids on screen at once for the embedded version has also been reduced slightly.
