Vmail-sql is a comprehensive solution for creating virtual domains email system.
vmail-sql is an email setup that encompasses virtual domains. With a set of scripts for domain administration and sample Exim configuration sections, it enables a complete virtual domains email setup. The patch to gnu-pop3d is now obsolete.
The software uses MySQL database to store the virtual domains setup instead of flat text files. This allows easy and hassle-free updating of configurations. A control panel application makes the update process even more straightforward.
It is specifically designed for environments where one machine/IP address operates several virtual domains, but it can also work for multiple-IP virtual hosting.
The database configuration allows for a flexible approach regarding forwarders and popboxes (mailspools). It permits assigning the latter to any Unix user and placing them anywhere in the filesystem, thus enabling filesystem quotas for virtual domain emails.
