Impressively, all WAN protocols supported by WANPIPE are implemented in firmware and run on the card, resulting in an efficient offloading of the system CPU and improving overall stability.
A particular highlight of the Sangoma WAN/ADSL component is its ability to transform any Linux kernel into a powerful multi-T1/ADSL router/firewall with the proven reliability of Linux. I found that the Sangoma S-series cards, in particular, support an onboard T1/E1 CSU/DSU, which eliminates all external components of a traditional routing solution, meaning that the T1/E1 line can be directly connected to the card.
