wcalc-applet

wcalc-applet is a small calculator software specifically designed for GNOME2 panel with PyGTK technology to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

If you're in need of a straightforward calculator applet for your GNOME2 panel, wcalc-applet may be just what you're looking for. This PyGTK-based tool is an excellent option for users who require quick calculations without diving into their computer's more complex features.

To install wcalc-applet, simply navigate to the package's source code directory and run the command `./configure'. Keep in mind that this may take a while to complete, but the program will provide updates on which features it's checking for as it runs. Once `configure' is finished, type `make' to compile the package.

Users who want to test the program for themselves can run `make check' to initiate self-tests, but this step is optional. After compiling and testing (if desired), use `make install' to install wcalc-applet's programs, documentation, and data files. When you're finished, you can remove program binaries and object files by using `make clean', and `make distclean' will also remove any files created by `configure' (in case you'd like to compile for a different computer).

The latest version of wcalc-applet is particularly notable for its improved handling of textfield sizes. Though a seemingly small fix, it greatly enhances the program's ease-of-use and overall functionality. Whether you're a seasoned computer user or a novice, wcalc-applet is an excellent tool to have on hand.
