Work Tracking Facilitator (WTF) is a software designed for simple and efficient time tracking. It is suitable for medium to small companies with less than 1000 users. WTF intentionally cuts corners and makes assumptions, which enables it to be efficient for the use-cases it supports. However, it requires an instance of Bugzilla to function properly. The software assumes the existence of a functional Bugzilla database (in MySQL) from which it can pull user account information and open projects.
When WTF synchronizes with the Bugzilla database, it checks the user account table and open bugs. Projects with the component of "Tracking" and are not marked "Closed" will display as open projects in WTF. Users can track time against these projects.
To use WTF, users must have Apache2, mod_perl2, Perl (version 5.8 or later), MySQL (version 4 or later), and Bugzilla installed.
The latest release of WTF includes various updates and bug fixes. For instance, it fixed a bug that resulted in daily email notifications being sent to inactive user accounts. It also added a feature that sets the Bugzilla bug state trigger for open/close projects based on a configuration entry in the configuration file. Additionally, it added a button that enables users to download an Excel report for the activity of a given month.
