Wormik

The Wormik project is a simple and classic worm game that requires the player to collect food to make the worm grow. As the player reaches a certain score, they can progress to the next level, which becomes increasingly difficult. The only anomaly within the game is that the player can eat themselves and gain points for doing so.

The game has a few requirements, which include SDL, SDL_image, and SDL_ttf. During gameplay, the description of tiles is available, which helps the player to strategize their moves. There are positive and negative tiles that affect the score and length, with the negative tile decrementing health and length by one. Other tiles will kill the player, adding to the challenge.

Interestingly, the player can even eat their own tail, halving their health but only decrementing it by one. If the player has enough points to exit, then their score is advanced by the number of eaten cells. Upon reaching the exit, there are additional points awarded based on the level number.
