WOW

I recently had the opportunity to try WOW, and I have to say, it's a stellar choice for anyone looking for a top-notch filter plugin that offers an easy-to-use modulation system and exceptional vowel sounds. The modulation system is not only versatile, but intuitive, as well. Users can mix modulation signals for each parameter independently, or alternatively, modulate each other. This level of flexibility opens up a world of possibilities, ideal for exploring new, exciting sounds.

WOW offers advanced filter features, such as 12/24db highpass, lowpass, and bandpass filters, as well as unique mapping options like comb filters, band reject, and LF crusher. Of course, the most compelling aspect of WOW for me is the special Vowel Mode. It allows users to control all available filter types using 2 vowels that can be mixed via cutoff control. The vowel options are extensive and include U, OE, A, A:, AE, E, and I, which deliver an amazing range of sounds.

In terms of modulation, WOW includes an envelope follower, LFO (which can be re-triggered by an audio signal), and step sequencer to create new and unheard-of effects that will elevate your music to the next level. Each modulator can be mixed in with parameters accessible through the right-click menu and can modulate each other.

Finally, WOW includes some additional features that really make it stand out from the competition, such as an overdrive option, a mix control for filtered and original signal mixing, and master control for final levels. The only requirements are a 1Ghz processor and 128mb of RAM, with VST/audio unit support from the host necessary.

The only limitations to this amazing plugin are that it has a 30-minute and 30-day timeout, no saving ability, and no recall functionality. However, these are minor drawbacks, and WOW delivers an exceptional experience that you won't forget. As a software reviewer, I recommend WOW without hesitation!
