WWW::StreetMap

I recently had the opportunity to review WWW::StreetMap, a Perl interface that seamlessly integrates with streetmap data. The interface is straightforward to use, and its effectiveness lies in its two essential object methods.

First up is the build_map_jpg method, which is responsible for downloading a map from streetmap and joining it into a single JPEG image. This method is quite fast and efficient, and its performance is noteworthy, particularly when larger map files are involved.

The second method is create_oo_doc, which is responsible for creating an OpenOffice Writer document containing the map. This method supports users in generating reports, especially when documenting reference to specific streetmaps. I found it particularly helpful that users can specify a pre-existing map for the document creation process. If no file name is provided, the default option sets $map_filename to $filename with the .jpg extension added.

Overall, I have had a pleasant experience using WWW::StreetMap, and I recommend it to anyone who requires a simple yet effective means of integrating streetmap data into their project.
