If you're a Star Wars™ fanatic like me, you'll love the xWing Widget software. It's a simple but fun addition to your Dashboard that displays various Star-Wars™ related images sized 175 x 150 pixels. One of the coolest things about this widget is that you can switch images whenever you want.
Plus, the latest version of xWing Widget now allows you to easily drop your own images into the Images-folder inside the Widget-package so that they will instantly show up in the preferences. However, it's important to note that your images need to be 175 pixels in width and 150 pixels in height, otherwise they will get distorted.
Personally, I enjoy cluttering my Dashboard with X-Wing-Squadrons flying towards a Death-Star, while AT-ATs protect the Dock. You can also set the widget to display a slideshow, which is a nice touch.
In the latest release, xWing Widget has added a few new features, including the option to change the image when Dashboard activates. There are also now several new images, such as a SnowSpeeder, a Star Destroyer, the Correllian Corvette, Darth Vaders Tie, a Tie Interceptor, an AT-ST, and a Trade Federation Tank. Additionally, the widget has been reworked to have a more decent shadow, and it now cleans its preferences when removed from Dashboard.
