Additionally, it can be accessed from Windows computers with PuTTY. Although it was primarily designed for normal HF/VHF-operations, YFKtest was created to cater for contests. Despite being in developmental stages, it has already served its intended purpose in contests.

The requirements for using YFKlog are minimal. Firstly, Perl 5 with Curses, DBI, and Strict are necessary. Secondly, access to a MySQL DB, or SQLite 3 with the required Perl bindings needed. Thirdly, LaTeX 2e with the geometry package (this is optional, needed only for QSL label print). Lastly, any old computer can run YFKlog, with the author having used it on a PII-600 with 128MB RAM, running FreeBSD 5.3. It was developed and tested mainly using Mandrake 9.2, Debian 3.1, and FreeBSD 5.3.
