If you are looking for tools and scripts to create development sandboxes for web applications that primarily use Zope, the zopeproject is your one-stop solution. With just two commands, you can start a new Zope-based web application from scratch. Firstly, install zopeproject using the easy_install command. Secondly, create a HelloWorld project with the zopeproject command which will prompt you to create an initial administrator with a username and password. You will also need to specify where the Python packages (eggs) should be stored to enable sharing with other zopeproject applications.

Unix/Linux users may need to invoke easy_install with sudo privileges. However, this software can be invoked with normal privileges inside a virtual-python or workingenv. Once zopeproject executes the commands, it will download the necessary zc.buildout package that will be used to build the sandbox. After which, zopeproject will call buildout to download Zope and its dependencies. Depending on your machine and connection speed, this might take some time.

When zopeproject finishes, you will find everything you need in the HelloWorld directory for typical Python package development environments.
