This software uses n-tier technology and requires an application server installed near the MS-Access database. The clients can be installed anywhere on the Internet.
After the server installation process is complete, the application retrieves all the database schema, including tables, fields, indexes, foreign keys, and views. Additionally, browsing and editing forms are created. The clients are then set up automatically. In one single pass, the clients connect to any of the application servers and copy all the necessary resources such as forms, reports, and menus.
Once a user logs in from a remote client, they have the capability to browse, sort, and filter all tables and views of the database. A composite filter can also be used to filter data. The user can add, modify or delete new records of any table using the edit form. The data from any browser can be exported to MS-Excel.
A great feature included in every client is the Remote SQL Executor. The user can execute any kind of SQL, including select, delete, create, update, etc. The SQL can be sent for execution to the application server and the results are returned, which can then be presented to a browser form or as a report. Furthermore, the SQL queries used can be saved as *.sql files and recalled later for execution.
The 3tier FrontEnd for MS-Access also allows the user to install any number of application servers (n-tire model) against a specific database. This means that clients can easily connect to any of these application servers, which provides great flexibility in terms of scalability and accessibility. Overall, the 3tier FrontEnd for MS-Access is an advanced piece of software that provides users with a powerful toolset to manage their database.
