Introducing another dark theme option for your GNOME desktop, adding to the choices for personalization.
Not only do you get the color options, but Absorb also includes Metacity themes in the download. But how do you install it? No need to worry, it's a simple process. Just right-click on your desktop and select "Change Desktop Background." Then, click on the first tab labeled "Theme" and drag and drop the theme's archive into the Appearance Preferences window. If everything goes well, you'll receive a confirmation message and can activate the theme with just one click.
For those unfamiliar with GNOME, it's an international project aimed at creating a complete desktop environment entirely out of free software. This includes everything from software development frameworks to managing application launching, file handling, and window and task management. GNOME is integrated into the GNU Project and works with various Unix-like operating systems, such as Linux, and as part of Java Desktop System in Solaris.
GNOME stands for GNU Network Object Model Environment, although the project has moved away from using the acronym. The emphasis of GNOME is on simplicity, usability, and making things "just work." So if you're looking for a user-friendly and free desktop environment, give GNOME a try.
