Adeos is an automated filesystem security scanner software. Its name is derived from the Roman goddess of modesty.
The output of the scan is available as text or HTML either in report or list style. The text output is written to stdout and redirected to a file, while HTML output is written to a file named results.html in the local directory. Adeos supports dynamic directories such as /dev, /devices, /proc, and /tmp.
This program should compile and run on almost any UNIX-type system and has been tested on Sun Solaris and Linux 2.x. However, it must be run from a non-priveleged user account on the system since results from a priveleged account such as root would be meaningless.
Adeos offers the following command-line options: -d to include dynamic directories in the scan, -h to place the output in an HTML file named results.html, -r to format the output as a collated report, and --help to display usage and help information.
By default, Adeos performs a normal mode scan with list-formatted text output. Therefore, if you are looking for a powerful software that can automatically scan your file system and identify common security risks, Adeos could be a great choice.
