Adrenalin Racing is an arcade-style racing game featuring a range of customizable cars.
The game has four unique game modes. The classic tournament style mode rewards points per race, and players can choose from three difficulty levels - easy, medium, and hard. The game also offers the Adrenalin mode which has the same difficulty levels as the tournament style mode. Adrenalin is similar to the well-known knock-out concept, with the player needing to be first to proceed. To compensate for the difficulty, players receive three credits at the start of Adrenalin, and if they do not finish, they can use their credits to continue anyway. Winning Adrenalin will enable players to unlock new cars and tracks.
The game also features an Arcade mode where players can play one race at a time. Another game mode available is Ghost, where the player competes against recorded records of their own driving instead of computer opponents. This gamemode is rare but exists in Adrenalin Racing.
Adrenalin Racing has its custom-made physics engine, adding to its unique experience, and Queas is its graphics engine which is a codelayer on top of OpenGL and is the continuation of OS9's Quickdraw3D. The game features true 3D sound provided through the open industry's leading OpenAL library, co-developed by Creative.
To run Adrenalin Racing, a minimum requirement of a 500Mhz G3 processor and 20 MB of hard disk space is needed. Overall, Adrenalin Racing is a full-featured racing game that is worth checking out, especially for Mac users.
