Agora BASIC compiles BASIC for POSIX, ideal for developers building cross-platform applications or programs.
Unlike other BASIC dialects, Agora BASIC isn't designed to be modern. Instead, the focus of the software is to support Minor extensions that enable the development of useful programs in the Unix environment, Mainly lifting senseless restrictions in the standard.
Agora BASIC is a compiler, not an interpreter. There is no interactive mode, and the compiler employs C as an intermediate language, while the system C compiler serves as the backend. Although the intermediate C code isn't meant for human consumption, it can't be edited manually.
In the initial release, Agora BASIC delivers enough language support to build simple programs. Future updates are anticipated to expand the software's functionality and broaden its scope.
