MP3 LEnder is a lightweight and user-friendly MP3 server that is programmed in C, allowing for easy management and sharing of MP3 files.
What sets AMPLE apart from other MP3 servers on the market is its simplicity – no external libraries or unnecessary features. It's the perfect solution for someone who just wants to listen to their own MP3's away from home, nothing more, nothing less. Plus, it's small, standalone, and portable (or so I've heard – I've even tried compiling it on SourceForge compile farms).
But enough marketing talk, let's get to the specifics. In the latest release, AMPLE has made some significant updates, such as making the ID3v2 code understand all versions between 2.2.0 and 2.4.0, reformatting the HTML output, fixing a search-and-replace error in the libwrap code, and renaming "-r" to "-n" (NON-recursive). Plus, the servername is now a config option and the DEF_LOGFILE has been changed (it previously pointed to ample.conf instead of ample.log). Additionally, there's been much work on autoconf stuff, making it compatible with a wider array of architectures.
Overall, AMPLE is an incredible software that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a simple, efficient MP3 server. Check out the links on the left for more information.
