AqMail retrieves emails from external POP3 mailboxes and applies custom filters set by the administrator.
One of the most exciting features of AqMail is that it supports multiple remote boxes per user. This means that you can gather mails from remote boxes into local boxes, making it easy for you to manage different email accounts. Additionally, you can set individual fetch intervals for every remote box of every user, making it a highly customizable tool.
The software also offers system-wide, domain-wide or per-user filtering of mail, giving you complete control over how your emails are filtered. With AqMail, you can order mail filters and have a simple interface to filter scripts. The POP3 client plugin comes with APOP or USER/PASS authentication, while the maildir plugin reads and writes maildir folders.
AqMail has been tested with QMail as the MTA and with Spamassassin and ClamAV as filters. It's a reliable tool that can be used to gather mails from multiple email accounts into a single account. You can access the account via a webmail interface (e.g. OpenWebMail) or via a POP3 server (e.g. QMail).
The software can be used as a daemon or in command mode. As a daemon, it continuously fetches, filters, and distributes mails. In command mode, you can fetch mails and store them directly to a maildir, making it an excellent tool to replace fetchmail. The best part is that AqMail is compatible with any mail transfer agent that can serve from maildir folders.
In the latest release, the daemon mode has been improved since 0.9.0beta. AqMail is a reliable and powerful tool that can be used to manage multiple email accounts easily.
