The AR-Smileys software offers a collection of MSN-compatible icons designed for Pidgin (Gaim) communication software. It contains a vast array of smiley emojis and can be easily installed on the Pidgin platform.
The current version of this set was created using The GIMP. However, for the upcoming 2.0 release, I plan to convert them into SVG format. The only issue at the moment is that layers in Inkscape are not as easily managed as they could be. Even in The GIMP, layer management is not always ideal. The source XCF for these smileys has around 200 layers, which can make them difficult to manage. To combat this issue, I am considering releasing a new version of the smile-generator, which will allow users to create custom smileys.

Finally, the latest release (version 1.9b) is identical to version 1.9, but includes an "emoticons.xml" file specifically for Kopete users. This feature was added to ensure compatibility with this popular messaging client.
