ARP monitoring software arpalert prevents unauthorized connections on local networks by monitoring ARP addresses.
If an unauthorized MAC address is detected, Arpalert launches a pre-defined user script with the MAC address and IP address as parameters. It is capable of running in daemon mode and has very low CPU and memory consumption. Arpalert responds perfectly to signal SIGHUP, which prompts configuration reload, and other signals such as SIGTERM, SIGINT, SIGQUIT, and SIGABRT enable Arpalert to stop itself.
This release is a significant upgrade, and the new features include fixing a bug that was present in the lease file reading. Additionally, there is a new script in contribs, an Ubuntu-supported script that sends a Zenity alert. Arpalert is a dependable and efficient software that helps users monitor their networks while ensuring that all conversations are secure, authorized, and accessible. It's a must-have software.
