ASK is a software designed to eradicate spam messages effectively.
ASK also allows you to specify an ignorelist for emails you want to ignore and a blacklist that prompts a nastygram to be sent back to the sender when an email is received. Unlike traditional content-filtering approaches, ASK takes advantage of invalid or fake "From:" addresses commonly used by spammers.
ASK is designed to block spam emails before they reach your mailbox. When an email arrives, ASK checks the sender's email address against your ignorelist. If it's listed, the email is ignored. If it's on your blacklist, the sender will receive a nastygram.
When an email arrives from an unknown user, ASK calculates an MD5 checksum and sends it back as part of a confirmation message. If the user replies with the correct confirmation number, the message is dequeued and delivered. If the user doesn't reply, the message remains queued.
ASK has some built-in intelligence that allows it to ignore error messages from mailer-daemon and never trust messages from your own email address. It also saves potentially spammy emails in a "Junk" mailfolder, rather than deleting them.
If you're looking for a software to help you deal with spam emails, ASK's active approach may just be what you need.
