Assemblerator is an audio tool that can reassemble audio tracks using an audio EDL. It simplifies the audio re-assembly process by automating manual efforts.
Assemblerator’s key features include its support for CMX3600 EDLs, as well as its ability to assemble a running Pro Tools session. The workflow is simple to follow. First, import the EDL/s that represent the AVID audio tracks. Then, select a soundroll from the ‘rolls’ table. The next step is to put your protools cursor in a track containing all spotted audio for the soundroll. Finally, click the assemble button. The software is designed with the intention of copying all the required edits for a soundroll and pasting them onto a set of five (multi-channel) tracks below – Avid tracks 1-4 plus one spare. Once this is complete, check the edits against the picture and move on to the next soundroll.
One particular limitation of the demo is that it allows a maximum of five edits and quits when done. The requirements for Assemblerator include mac OS10.3 or greater on G4/G5 processor as well as "access for assistive devices" in Universal Access preferences. Overall, Assemblerator is an invaluable tool for anyone who needs to re-assemble audio tracks quickly and efficiently. Its simplicity of use combined with its powerful features make it a highly recommended addition to any production workflow.
