This free physics simulation enables users to observe radiative transitions in atoms, including absorption and stimulated emission.
Upon launching the applet, the software displays an incoming wave that is at the right frequency, namely the Bohr frequency, to transition the particle from the ground state to 2px. Following this state transition, the particle de-excites from 2px back to the ground state, and the process continues in a loop.
Users can easily select and view another transition by choosing from the popup menu located at the upper-right corner of the applet's interface. Atomic Dipole Transitions is a reliable and user-friendly quantum mechanics simulation that can help users understand the interactions between atoms and electromagnetic waves.
