Audio Tag Tool allows users to organize and edit tags in MP3 and Ogg Vorbis files. This software provides a simple, yet efficient method to update and manage metadata information in audio files.
With Tag Tool, you have the ability to edit tags one by one, but the most valuable feature is that you can edit or rename hundreds of files at once. The interface is divided into two sections, with the list of available files on the left and a set of tabs on the right.
Each tab corresponds to one of the main operations that Audio Tag Tool can perform. These include the Tag Editor, where you can edit individual tags, and Tag Multiple Files, which lets you set the tags of multiple files at once. Furthermore, you have the option to clear tags from multiple files at once with the Clear Tags feature.
With Move/Rename Multiple Files, you can rename and organize multiple files at once. You may also base the filenames on the contents of the tag. In addition, you can generate playlists with the Create Playlists feature, which allows you to sort playlists by file name or any tag field.
Audio Tag Tool requires Gtk, version 2.4, libglade, version 2.4, ID3Lib for MP3 support (tested with version 3.8.3), and libvorbis and libvorbisfile for Ogg Vorbis support (tested with version 1.0). The latest release is a long overdue bug-fix update (see the ChangeLog for details). Additionally, the program includes a new application icon, along with new translations for Polish, Swedish, Dutch, and Brazilian Portuguese.
