Autopreview is a lightweight Vim script that enables immediate preview of definitions, similar to Source Insight.
The developer recommends using this script when working on large projects with multiple files, where you may want to quickly see the definition of a new variable or function without having to input "ptag" each time. Please note that the Taglist plugin is required for this script to work.
To use autopreview, you can add the following text to your vimrc file:
" Do not enable the preview function with vim starting
let g:AutoPreview_enabled =0
" Make it so you can press F5 key to enable or disable the preview window, you can also set to other favorite hotkey here
nnoremap < F5 > :AutoPreviewToggle < CR >
inoremap < F5 > < ESC >:AutoPreviewToggle< CR >i
" Set the time(ms) break to refresh the preview window, I recommend 500ms~1000ms with good experience
set updatetime=1000
After installing the plugin and setting up your vimrc file, press F5 to enable the plugin. You can use your mapped hotkey to toggle the preview window on and off at any time.
In the latest release, v0.1, the script has been optimized and enhanced. Overall, autopreview is a useful tool for Vim users looking to streamline their coding process.
