What Can I Do With Avendex?
Users of Avendex can analyze those sightings by year, month, day, location, state, geophysical area, species, species form, pelagic status, or by virtually any combination thereof. Quickly and easily.
SPECIAL NOTE: If you do try the Linux demo, and later install the full version, remember to drag the Demo folder to the Trash and then empty the Trash.
You will need a PDF Reader/Viewer to view some of the documentation; to the best of my knowledge, most Linux distros include such a reader.
The Linux version of Avendex is not sold as a separate product; instead, it is bundled with the Windows and Mac OS X versions. To obtain the Linux version, we suggest purchasing the full Windows or Mac OS X version. Each CD contains a tar file that only needs to be copied to your Linux system and then extracted. The Windows version of Avendex ships on a CD in ISO9660 format; the Mac version ships on a CD in Mac OS Extended format. If you have a Mac CD, make sure your Linux Distro can read it.
One other "quirk": when you place your order, please indicate that you want a Linux registration code to be included with your order. It is not included by default, and Windows and Mac OS X registration codes are not included by default.
· GTK+ 2.8 (or higher)
· glibc-2.3 (or higher)
· CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System)
· This demo contains data for only five bird species.
· There may be a lag between the roll-out of a new version of Avendex and its "migration" into the demo.
