AverRemote is a python script for amaroK that allows users to utilize their averMedia remote control.
Upon downloading the script, users will find comprehensive instructions on how to use it. I hope you find it intuitive and easy to use, and I value any and all feedback that you may have.
averRemote comes equipped with several key features, including compatibility with any bttv card - although it has only been tested with a bttv IR (card=13). The following key bindings are included within the script:
- Channel Up = next song
- Channel Down = prev song
- Volume Up = volume up
- Volume Down = volume down
- Pause = pause playback
- Stop = stop playback
- Play = start playback
- Key yellow = enable/disable random mode
- Key blue = enable/disable dynamic mode
In order to utilize this script, users must have amaroK, Python 2.2, and PyQt (and kdialog).
In the latest release of averRemote, several more key bindings have been added as well as instructions for usage with udev. All in all, I am pleased with the functionality and ease of use of averRemote and hope that it proves to be a useful tool for others as well.
