AxY FTP is an FTP client that runs on Gtk, providing a simple and efficient interface for file transfer.
One of the most important configuration options is "--with-gui=GUI", where "GUI" can be either motif or GTK. The configure script searches for Motif installation by default and then for GTK if a Motif installation is not found. To install help files to a specific directory, use "--with-help=DIR".
If building the Motif version, users will need the CDE DtWidget library. However, a functional clone is provided in the distribution if users do not have it installed. Additionally, the distribution includes the XmAxy library containing Notebook and enhanced List Motif-based widgets. Users can install the libraries by running "./configure --enable-install-dt --enable-install-xmaxy".
Users can also find AxY FTP logo icons in XPM format in the icons/ subdirectory. The software has a few requirements, including CDE DtWidget, XmAxy, and GTK+ 1.0/1.2.
In the latest release, the developers fixed a problem with "invisible" directory listing and a linking problem on some systems. Overall, AxY FTP is a functional and customizable FTP client with several installation options available for users.
