B-Chat is a Battle.net chat app that supports group chats and user whispering.
At present, B-Chat functions similarly to a regular UNIX telnet client, and the lines being sent and received appear mixed together, making it challenging to read at times. Despite this setback, the application serves its intended purpose.
The developer created B-Chat out of a desire to chat with their friends on Battle.net while using Linux. The alternative options at the time were to either reboot to Windows to use TopazChat or ScumBot, or to use Wine, which the developer did not want to do. This led the developer to code their chat client, which is still in its early stages of development.
Due to its roughness and limited functionality, B-Chat may currently be difficult to use. For instance, users must manually supply the name of the Battle.net server they wish to connect to. However, this is expected to change as the client develops further in future updates.
