Zero-gravity 2D shooter game - navigate through space and engage in intense aerial battles with enemies.
Additionally, Balder2D requires Python in order for the AI to function properly. Luckily, the game's source code is freely available in the "balder2d" module in cvs.
In Balder2D, players control small probes that can shoot tiny projectiles to destroy their enemies. The game features an overhead view of the playing field, and probes can be either human or computer-controlled.
Probes can perform various actions, such as rotating, firing projectiles, "sticking" to a wall, and pushing off of a wall. If a probe is not in "stick" mode, it will automatically bounce off of walls. However, if a probe is in "stick" mode when it hits a wall, it will come to a stop. Players can then turn the probe and "push off" of the wall to propel their probe in a new direction.
While probes can rotate during flight, firing projectiles or colliding with other objects are the only ways to change direction or speed. Probes have limited ammo, and the ammo capacity has a finite recharge rate, making strategic management of ammo crucial for success.
Overall, Balder2D is an exciting and challenging 2D shooter that will keep you entertained for hours.
