This software simulates the formation of standing flexural waves in a bar to explain the concepts of physics.
Below the bar, there is a graph that illustrates each normal mode's contribution to the bar's vibration. There are two sets of indicators located on the top; the magnitude indicators display the amplitude of each normal mode. These indicators can be adjusted with the mouse, or you can double-click on one to isolate a particular mode.
The software's setup menu, located in the upper right part of the simulation window, offers other variants of the bar with different boundary conditions for you to experiment with. Overall, this software is a useful and intuitive tool for those interested in studying the properties of vibration and wave motion.
