Barcode CS IND is an Adobe Indesign CS 3 plug-in that generates a wide range of linear and 2D codes.
Once you've installed the plug-in into your Indesign Plug-Ins folder, you'll be able to access it via the Indesign tool bar. To create a barcode, simply select the tool and click-drag a frame on the layer where you want the code to appear.
One of the best things about the Barcode CS IND tool is the sheer range of barcodes that it can create. This includes EAN 8 / EAN 13, ISBN 10 / ISBN 13, UPC-A / UPC-E, Code 39, Code 39 Extended, Code 128 A, B, C, Code 128 UCC/EAN/GS1, Code 2/5 Interleaved, Code 2/5 Industrial, Codabar, Datamatrix, PDF417, and QR Code.
There are plenty of additional features too, including automatic checksum generation, support for EAN family SC sizes with height reduction, bar width reduction to compensate for dot gain, support for human readable text under the generated code with free font selection and much more.
The only real limitation of the Barcode CS IND tool is that the first character or digit of the encoded data will always be a "9". If you create ISBN codes with addon, the addon code will also start with a "9". However, this is a minor issue that shouldn't put you off using this otherwise excellent barcode plug-in.
