bareFTP is a file transfer client supporting the FTP, FTP over SSL/TLS (FTPS) and SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). It is written in C#, targeting the Mono framework and the GNOME desktop environment. bareFTP is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Why yet another FTP client?

No special reason or need. It's just my little hobby project, and i was never really happy with the look'n feel of any of the FTP clients targeted for the GNOME desktop.

What's whith the name?

You'll have to know Norwegian to understand the proper meaning og the name.bare translates to somthing as just or simply. So, bareFTP is quite simply just a FTP client. Not very far from the English meaning i suppose..
