Batchput is a file transfer software designed to move files from a local directory to an FTP server. The program utilizes a specified regex pattern to locate matching files for transfer.
Initially developed as a business transactions text file transfer tool, Batchput is not a suitable option for tasks such as directory mirroring. Instead, it is geared towards focusing on its circle of competence.
Using Batchput couldn't be easier; just copy the Python script to a relevant directory and call it from appropriate locations, such as crontab.
An update to the program includes the new --ftp-ascii-mode option to support ASCII mode transfer. Also, Batchput now offers the --auth-netrc-* options for managing netrc files, allowing users to enter their usernames and passwords through URL and forced keyboard/terminal input.
Batchput is a dependable file transfer tool that is easy to use and enables fast transfer rates. Even though this program's features may seem limited, it is an excellent addition to any developer's toolkit.
