BaZeN Jukebox is a PHP and MySQL-based script that can efficiently index music, rename and edit id3-tags, amongst other functions.
BaZeN Jukebox has several characteristics that make it stand out in the music software industry. The album and artist view modes enable incredibly quick and efficient song searches, and a live-help feature in the bottom left corner provides users with assistance at all times. Moreover, the software indexes all music automatically and even differentiates between albums with various artists. The system can also fix broken ID3-tags, resize front-cover images, and music playlists to ensure the perfect listening atmosphere.
Requirements to run the software include a webserver running *nix, PHP4 or newer (not running in safemode), MySQL 3 server or newer, mpg321 0.2.10 or newer, MP3Info 0.8.4, or newer, as well as a sound card.
The newest version of BaZeN Jukebox presents several highly anticipated changes, such as more accurate error messages when users make unexpected movements. A new feature includes the use of getID3() to glean information about music files, which means that the software now supports ID3v2 and other formats will be available in the future. The installation script has been enhanced to enable the config.php file editing, setting up the database, and indexing the user's music-archive. A comprehensive list of albums with missing front covers is now available in the administration panel. Finally, a fading feature between songs has been included whereby the next song automatically starts playing a few seconds before the previous has ended, and the number of seconds between songs can be customized to suit individual preferences.
