bbconf is a user-friendly software tool that simplifies the configuration process of the Blackbox window manager, offering a graphical user interface (GUI) for easy and efficient management.
The key to bbconf's comprehensive capabilities lies in its plugin architecture. Whether you need to configure blackbox itself or its helper applications such as bbkeys, bbpager, bbapm, bbmail, bbpal, etc., bbconf has got you covered. The tool comes with four plugins pre-installed, allowing you to configure blackbox's keybindings, styles/themes, menus, and submenus with ease.
Thanks to the work of xOr, the plugin architecture is both simple and elegant. Its intuitive design makes it easy for developers to add new plugins to their blackbox/X sessions.
bbconf is the merger of two previous GUI configuration tools, bbkeysconf (the GUI blackbox keygrabber configurator) and toolbox (the GUI blackbox style/theme editor). However, since its inception, it has grown to offer users many more features and capabilities than either of the previous tools.
bbconf is built using Qt, with certain portions utilizing raw Xlib functions as needed. Qt Designer was used during development to create the forms and base classes, making it easy to redesign and update its layout.
To use bbconf, you'll need the Qt libraries installed. If you wish to compile bbconf yourself, you will also require X libraries, X development packages, and Qt development packages. With these pieces in place, you can take full advantage of bbconf's robust capabilities and comprehensive configuration features.
