Beyond is a multimedia driver that enables installation for Prof. Jill Scott's "Beyond Hierarchy" exhibition hosted in Dortmund's Zeche Zollern venue.
To install Beyond, you must first edit the beyond.c file and toggle the right ports for the devices that you will be using. Specifically, you need to change the variables adcdevice[NUMADC], dvddevice[NUMDVD], touchdevice[], and lightdevice[]. These variable definitions can be found in the .h files. Once you have made these modifications, you can execute "make clean; make" to rebuild the binary.
After installing Beyond, you need to start the software while running Xwindows. If you are running KDE and the program doesn't start correctly, you can use and modify the start.sh script to reflect the proper path. Overall, Beyond is a useful driver for controlling multimedia installations in academic or artistic settings, and the installation process is relatively straightforward if you have the necessary hardware and are comfortable with editing code.
