BIM Experience KIT includes advanced 2D drawing and layout features for structural engineers, interior designers, and architects.
One of the standout features of the BIM Experience Kit is the innovative technology that allows users to convert their files to be compatible with commercial versions of ArchiCAD. This means that users can rest assured that the time spent on learning is not going to be wasted, as their files can be easily taken forward into projects once they have purchased the full software.
The BIM Experience Kit also offers a way for users to track their understanding of BIM online. Completed assessments are automatically registered for a chance to win an ArchiCAD program or even a trip to Budapest to meet the Graphisoft team in spring of 2008.
When it comes to requirements, the BIM Experience Kit doesn't disappoint. Users will need a computer with at least an Intel Pentium 4 2GHz, or compatible processors with equal or higher performance; or a Macintosh PowerPC G4 series with 1GHz processor or G5 series, or Macintosh with any Intel processor. Additionally, users will need at least 1 GB of RAM (with 2 GB or more recommended for complex models), and a minimum of 1 GB free hard disk space for a full installation (with an additional 2 GB required for work with complex projects and 3D visualization).
Finally, it's worth noting that there are some limitations with the trial version of ArchiCAD 11 that comes with the BIM Experience Kit. Specifically, features such as Save, Copy, and Teamwork are disabled, and there is a 30-day trial period. Users will also need to register before they can download the software.
