This software package offers six plug-in processors that enhance the quality of digital sound recordings.
One particular plug-in that stood out to me was the BT BrickWall BW2S-XP. As a simple and elegant brick wall compressor/limiter, it allowed me to create smooth audio tracks without the unwanted transients. And when used on master tracks, it got rid of harsh peaks in the program material, allowing me to increase the overall level of my mix.
But the real star of the pack for me was the BT Compressor CP2S. Its warm analog sound blew me away and emulated the classic functions of analog tube compressors, including RMS and Peak compressions.
Similarly, the BT Deesser DS-2S was a stereo deesser that provided vintage sound and controls. It was perfect for taming harsh vocal sounds, specifically "ess" sounds, through the use of a frequency-specific compressor that reduces the offending high frequencies when the level of those frequencies exceeds the threshold.
The pack also included the BT Compressor FA770, which mimicked highly coveted analog compressors. With just a few adjustments to the Threshold and Time Constant, I was able to achieve an incredibly satisfying compression sound.
Lastly, the BT ExpanderGate GX622 was able to tame the noise floor, ensuring that only the desired audio was heard. Its fully adjustable gate/expander allowed me to reduce or cut the signal if the level became too low, minimizing unwanted background noise on the tracks.
And finally, the BT Limiter LM2S was an easy-to-use tube emulation limiter perfect for mastering. Along with the basic limiting controls, it included a 5-band EQ, which allowed for the final sonic details to be addressed while increasing the apparent loudness of the mixes.
Overall, the Blue Dynamics Pack bundle was an excellent investment in my eyes. Each of the plug-ins provided outstanding sound quality while remaining easy to use and highly functional.
