bnIRC is a versatile software that serves as both an IRC framework for developers and an ncurses IRC client for everyone. It enables programmers to build robust chat applications while offering users an intuitive interface for interacting with online communities in real-time.
BnIRC serves as both an IRC framework for programmers as well as an ncurses IRC client for anyone. This software embodies freedom in its purest form and is licensed under the GPL license. If you appreciate BnIRC's functionality, please support this project as 10% of all donations go to the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
This software is specifically crafted for POSIX-compliant OS's such as Unixes and Linux. It is rigorously tested on Debian/x86 and FreeBSD/sparc64 although there are known issues associated with the PPC architecture. Users who try it on sparc32, alpha, mips, or any other architecture are encouraged to drop a line to let the developers know what happens. The wiki has installation directions for several Linux distributions as well as FBSD.
The developers of BnIRC extend their gratitude "to ions for helping with the original bnIRC webpage, and janne_oksanen with his extensive help on the Documentation, and to all those that have helped with bug finding etc..."
