The Bollix software is a word game that challenges players to form words using given letters.
Currently, Bollix only supports one or two players. The networking code is still not very reliable, which is why this version is classified as an alpha release. However, the developer is hoping to introduce network games that can accommodate a different number of players in the future.
This latest version of Bollix offers some new features. Two-player network play has been added, and it now comes with a chat system too. Additionally, if you close the game window, the program quits automatically. Any crashes caused by failed connections to the dictionary server have also been fixed.
The main window and dictionary panel have been rearranged for improved user experience. The dictionary panel is now equipped with clickable links. The timer has also been updated to be an hourglass in the toolbar. Lastly, the developer has removed a total of 103,939 questionable words from the lexicon, ensuring more accurate results.
Overall, Bollix is a fun word game that exercise your vocabularies. Though the networking code needs some work, the game is still enjoyable and worth trying. The latest version brings an array of improvements, including two-player network play and a revamped dictionary panel, that take the game to a whole new level.
