Bovo is a two-player game similar to Gomoku, in which players take turns placing pieces on a grid in an attempt to create a line of five pieces.
When you start Bovo for the first time, it is launched in demo mode where two AI players compete with each other. However, you can always start a new game by clicking on the New button located on the toolbar, choosing the Game->New menu entry on the menubar, or using the default shortcut Ctrl+N.
One of the unique features of Bovo is that it provides a level playing field for both players by alternating them every new game. This ensures that the first player's advantage is neutralized. If you're the first player, start the game by placing your pictogram anywhere on the playing field. If you're the second player, wait until the first player places their piece and then do the same yourself.
To play the game, you can place your mark into any empty square on the playfield. You have to ensure that your opponent does not connect five symbols in a row vertically, horizontally or diagonally while simultaneously trying to connect five of your own symbols. Whoever achieves five connected symbols first wins the round.
Bovo has a few requirements that need to be fulfilled before you can play the game. It requires the installation of the KDE 4.x libraries and Qt 4.x libraries. Once you have these installed, you're all set to start playing Bovo!
