bprom is a console-based software used for reading and writing both EPROMs and EEPROMs.
When it comes to installation, bprom couldn't be simpler. Unlike other configuration scripts, which can be tricky to navigate, this one is a breeze - it doesn't even exist! Once you're ready to compile the software, all you need to do is type "make". Then, as root, you can easily install it using "sudo make install". By default, the binary file will be installed at /usr/local/bin and the man file at /usr/local/man/man1. If you need to make any changes, simply adjust the Makefile according to your preferences.
Before diving in, it's worth noting that bprom works best with gcc, gnu make and Linux 2.6 (xubuntu 7.04). However, it's highly versatile and should be able to compile on most systems without any issues. Whether you're working on a large-scale project or just need a simple way to read or write EPROMs or EEPROMs, bprom is definitely worth checking out.
