Camera_AXIS is a Java program that enables users to view images captured by an AXIS 2100 camera over a network.
The installation process of Camera_AXIS is straightforward; users only need to run the make command. After installation, the application can be started using the make test command. Furthermore, configuration parameters are saved in .java.cfg, which is automatically generated when users start the application for the first time. This file contains important information such as the URL of the camera and the user ID and password of the camera administrator. However, users can still view images from the camera even without credentials. Still, they won't be able to change the camera settings without the user ID and password.
Camera_AXIS comes with a bundled Base64 encoder from Robert Harder that's distributed together with the application. Additionally, the application takes proxy settings from the http_proxy environment variable, if present. Lastly, users who don't want to compile the app may take advantage of the precompiled version of the app in jar-file format. To run the precompiled jar-file, users need to execute it with the java -jar AXIS.jar command.
Overall, Camera_AXIS is an excellent software that simplifies the process of accessing and viewing MJPG-format videos generated by AXIS 2100 network cameras. Users can easily view the videos with minimal configuration or hassle.
