Chess Training Tools is a set of tools designed for chess training.
One of the critical features of the Chess Training Tools software is the visualization trainer. This trainer drills players on various aspects of chess visualization, such as identifying the color of particular squares, determining whether two squares are the same color, identifying whether two or three squares are on the same diagonal, or if two squares are a knight move apart.
The program is a brainchild of the developer, who designed it primarily to improve his chess visualization ability. However, he decided to share it with other players, to enable them to benefit from it as well.
To use the Chess Training Tools software, you need to practice every day using the various exercises that the program poses. With consistent practice, you will be able to visualize any chess position in your head, without the need for a board.
One of the best ways to use the Chess Training Tools software is to work your way through the panels, completing 20 of each exercise. Start with the Color exercise, then proceed to Same Color, Diagonal 2, Diagonal 3, Knight, Knight 2, and finally Mate.
After completing the exercises, you can play a game against Vince, starting slowly either by lagging the display by one ply or by blanking out one quadrant. Then, work your way up to the highest levels of the game to challenge yourself even more.
Overall, the Chess Training Tools software is an excellent choice for chess players who want to improve their visualization ability, memory retention, and other essential skills necessary for playing chess at a higher level.
