This software decrypts CMOS password stored in CMOS to access BIOS Setup.
Not only did CmosPwd allow me to recover passwords, but it also enabled me to backup, restore and erase/kill the cmos. One thing to note is that AWARD 4.50 BIOSes have a backdoor with a generic password: AWARD_SW, while SOYO motherboards have "SY_MB" as the master password for Award 4.51. CmosPwd provides equivalent passwords for Award BIOS, not the original one.
Another great feature of CmosPwd is its compatibility with different operating systems, including Dos-Win9x, Windows NT/W2K/XP/2003, Linux, FreeBSD and NetBSD. I tested it on Windows and had no issues with its performance.
The latest version of CmosPwd also adds support for the VAIO EEPROM and Samsung P25 CMOS, making it even more versatile. Overall, I would highly recommend this software to anyone looking for a reliable tool to recover or reset BIOS passwords.
